A Walking Day

Maybe I'm weird but I enjoy doing the daily chores like dishes, sweeping, laundry. Today I stripped the bed and hung the sheets out on the back balcony. All done before 9:00am. Should have taken the picture with the laundry on the rack...

We walked over to the shops on Mosta Road for fresh, still warm Maltese bread and buns. A few grocery items and were home by 10:30. Had an early lunch before walking along the bay into Bugibba. I signed up for my first class at Caravaggio Art, a two hour lesson on Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30. With "well renowned Maltese artist" Jude Zammit.

Again we sit in the sun with coffee and beer. Bugibba is not my favourite place because it is a very touristy area. It's like the boardwalks of beach resorts with all the trinket shops, over priced jewelry stores and mugs with 'I Love Malta' on them.

There are not a lot of boats anchored in the bay in the winter compared to pictures we have seen during the summer. Along the promenade there is a wall with hooks in the cement to secure the punts that the owners use to get back and forth to their boats.

As we walked home up our road overlooking the bay we noticed that some of the benches looked new. After a better look we saw that they had all been replaced, with the last two in front of our apartment replaced after we got home. It's a small thing. It really shows how benches, sitting and relaxing are such a part of European culture. View of our new bench from our balcony.
There almost doesn't seem to be much to write about today. We spent the later afternoon at home. I got some time to sketch. I'm not really comfortable painting outside so for now I take pictures and add things to my journal at home.

Two weeks since we left home already. Tomorrow we are going on the bus to somewhere ....
