Working out the Kinks

I thought I would start to post to my blog again to try to get the creative juices working before we leave for Malta. The Apple IOS8 update has caused a lot of glitches and my Blogsy App appears to have been one of them. After two days of worrying that I would not be able to continue my blog I googled to anybody out there about the app not opening. Through the magic of the Internet I received an email from Blogsy CEO Lance giving me detailed steps to correct my problem.

Great service, great blogging app and here I am ready to record my next journey with words, pictures and most of all my journal painting and sketching.

October at Home

For many years we have been on the road by this time heading south to warmer, drier destinations. It's always been exciting to leave but also a little sad to miss some of the prettiest times of the year at home. I have probably taken hundreds of pictures of sunrises and sunsets throughout the south. The desert lends itself to exquisite colours across huge skies. This year as we start a new winter experience which entails staying home til December we have enjoyed a beautiful summer and fall. We see the sun and moon rise over Denman Island and watch huge maples and trembling aspens change their colours. Many afternoons as the sun sets behind the hills it shines on the trees setting the yellows and reds on fire. My neighbour Kathleen's old house has the most spectacular fence covered withVirginia Creeper which is a brilliant red today.
It is Thanksgiving weekend and as beautiful as the weather has been, the October rain train has arrived. We have had our first sou' Easter and most of the leaves have now fallen.
We are sleeping later in the mornings, the pull to hibernation is strong. I even put the soup pot on for the turkey leftovers.
Our emphasis now is to prepare ourselves and the house for the "new" winter trip.
